Half Floral Flowers

This design is perfect for any age and has a formal touch to it. First apply your base coat to protect your natural nail. Next apply 2 coats of your preferred nail polish colour – I chose the polish Make Mine Mango by Revlon. Using a gold stripper nail polish make half a flower outline. Next apply a little bit of the gold polish onto a makeup sponge and dab onto the centre of your flower. Now to finish off this design, add a rhinestone into the centre of the flower and seal your design with a top coat.

Splatter Nails

This design is just as easy as it looks like. All you need a 2 different coloured nail polishes and a straw. Also I would advise lining your work area with a paper towel or two as this design tends to get a little messy. To start off I first applied my base coat followed by 2 coats of Lightening by Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color, on the thumb and ring finger. Next apply 2 coats of a red polish – I used Russian Roulette by Essie. Now space out your ring finger from your other fingers on a paper towel. Dip the straw into red nail polish and blow into the straw over your nail. This will create a splatter effect. Repeat this process on your thumb and seal your design with a top coat.

Floral Frosted Tips

To make this easy elegant nail art design, simply start off with a French Manicure. Next, using a small dotting tool and Black acrylic paint, make a few 5-petaled flowers just above the white tips. If desired silver decorative beads without holes can be added into the centre of the flower. Finally seal your design with a top coat. Love on the Rocky Mountains

First apply 2 coats of Deep Sea Blue by Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear. Next using a white nail polish such as White On by Sally Hansen and a nail art brush draw one equilateral triangle in the centre on the nail and a right angled triangle on either sides, and fill them in. Now using a nail art brush and purple nail polish make a small heart within all of the triangles. To finish your design, just seal it with a top coat.

Hello Kitty

This is the perfect nail art design for anyone that loves the cute little kitten, Hello Kitty. First apply your base colour. I used Fuchsia Power by Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear. Next using a nail art brush and a white nail polish such as White On by Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear, as well as a thin nail art brush draw the outline on Hello Kitty’s face on your ring finger. Following this, fill in the rest of Hello Kitty’s head and draw a bow using a red nail polish and a dotting tool. Next using a black nail polish such as Black Night by Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails outline Hello Kitty’s head, and her bow using a nail art brush. Using the same polish and a dotting tool, make the eyes, nose and whiskers. For the nose you can also add some gold to make Hello Kitty look more realistic. Now using a lighter shade of pink such as Rose Petal by Maybelline New York, and a dotting tool, make scattered dots on all of the rest of the fingers. Festivity Nails

Recreating this festive look is quite simple. Firstly start off by adding a base coat, then apply 2 coats of a red nail polish, I used Cherry Red by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. The candy cane designs found on the index, middle and ring finger are easily made using a white nail polish - White on by Sally Hansen and a nail art brush - I made diagonal strokes across my nail to get the candy cane effect. Next on the index and ring finger I made Santas coat. First make a thick stroke using the nail art brush and white nail polish. Next, for the belt use a black nail polish, I used Black Night by Sally Hansen Hard as Nail with Nylon and a nail art brush make a horizontal line across the centre of your nail. At the point in which the black nail polish intercepts, a gold nail polish by Stripe Rite was used to make the belt buckle. Get in the mood for Christmas and jolly up your nails.

Wintry Snowflake Nails

After an inspiration from a fellow blogger, I thought I’d share this design with the rest of you. To recreate this, first start off with a base coat, and then apply 2 coats of a red nail polish - I used Cherry Red by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. Next, using a white nail polish -I used was White On by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - and a nail art brush I made one snow flake on each finger, allowing the ones on the thumb and ring finger to be slightly larger than the others. Following this, use a dotting tool to make a few dots in the empty spaces on your nails. If you would like you can also add some glitter to your wintry design, I used Disco Ball by Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear. Lastly another optional step is to add rhinestones; I have added larger rhinestones on my thumb and ring finger and smaller ones on the other nails, all of which are in the centre of the snowflake. Try it out and give your nails a winter glow.

Plaid Nails

Recreating this gorgeous plaid look is very simple. First, just apply a rich green as your base colour (I used Emerald City by Sally Hansan’s Xtreme Wear). Now using a nail art brush and a sparing amount of black nail polish (I used Black Night by Sally Hannsan Hard as Nail) you’ll make three (3) line diagonally towards the left (one in the centre and one on either sides), followed by another three (3) diagonal lines towards the right. This will end up in a grid pattern. Using the black nail polish now, fill in the diamond shapes in the centre of the nail and work your way out. Making sure to leave every other box green. Next using a nail art brush and a gold polish (I used Stripe Rite), make two diagonal lines towards both the left and right. To protect your beautiful design make sure to add a top coat. Vol’a your design is complete.

Typographic Nails

Want a very simple and quick nail art design, look no further.

First grab a newspaper and cut out ten slips from a news column, making sure that the slips fit over your nail (excess is fine). Now apply two (2) coats of any light coloured nail polish (I used Rose Petal by Maybelline Salon Expert). Here comes the fun part, take slips of the newspaper cut out you have and dip it into rubbing alcohol. Simply place the slip onto the nail and press it gently for approximately 10 seconds. Then remove the slip and to prevent the print from rubbing off the nail, apply a top coat. There you have it, easy peasy nail art.

Paw Trails

Don’t you find animals cute? Well, then you’ll find this design even cuter. To make this simple paw print design first apply a base coat, followed by an application of two (2) coats of any nail polish colour that you desire (in this case I used a light blue). Next using a dotting tool make a dot in the top left corner using a white nail polish. This will be the paw of the paw print. Now using a smaller dotting tool (or even a toothpick if you do not have one available), make 3 little dots which will be the fingers, this too using the white nail polish. After this I switched things up and used a black nail polish for the next two paw prints and alternated back to the white using the exact same technique. Don’t forget to add a glossy top coat to give shine and protect the design.

Pretty Wild

What you see above is a nail art called “Pretty Wild” and its so easy that practically anyone can do it. After applying a base coat, I applied two (2) coats of a hot pink nail polish, in this case I used Fuchsia Power by Sally Hansan Xtreme Wear. Next, I used a white nail polish called White On also by Sally Hansan Xtreme Wear. A dotting tool was used to make 3-4 flowers going diagonally on my nails. To add some more flare, I used a nail art brush and made zebra prints on the right side of the flowers. Finally, sparkles were added in my flowers, but that’s optional. You can also use rhinestones or even just leave it as is. Enjoy!
